Bæjarins beztu – Reykjavik’s legendary hot dog stand has moved temporarily from the location it’s been in for the last 80 years. It’s now situated in front of the 1919 hotel
The hot dog stand has moved because of construction work in the city centre where a hotel and shopping complex are set to rise.
The queue for the hot dog stand will now end up in Austurstræti. Bæjarins beztu are set to return to their old location by December
Bæjarins beztu translates as “the city’s best” and is a hot dog stand that has been in existence since 1937 in the downtown,The Guardian named Bæjarins bestu the best hot dog stand in Europe and among the celebrities to have eaten there are former US President Bill Clinton and James Hetfield of Metallica.
