Light night

The lightning festival, the cultural and family festival of Reykjanesbær, was held for the first time on September 2, 2000,
and was a description of the seafront of the Berg. The light work, which was carried out by Steinthor Jónsson’s idea,
was the contribution of Reykjanesbær to Reykjavík, a cultural city in 2000.

Light night is held on the first weekend of September each year and always ends with the description of the mountain and the impressive fireworks show.
Townspeople are actively involved in the festival and the availability of cultural events has increased year by year as well as the number of visitors.
